Yes, most dehydrated foods is? done correctly will store fine in a cool, dry place on their own but you can also vacuuseal them to extend the shelf life even longer π The oxygen absorber helps slow down the oxidation degradation process but it is not absolutely necessary with vacuusealing since you are removing oxygen in that process. π Great question π
Is there a way to store dehydrated foods without? using Co2 absorbers?
is there some way to make? them not turn brown. lemon or something?
scrub a dub dub the? old spud π
Hey, at least we all? know how to wash potatoes, now! lol
Absolutely π They will be? coming soon π
Can u do? some more videos on food dehydration as well as best containers for storage?
LOL “beast? of a video” :0) True this wasn’t my finest hour or I mean 12 minutes π
Hi, first of all thanks for doing the video, dehydrating potatoes isn’t something I had considered for prepping. Now, for some friendly constructive criticism. Liberal use of editing could have shaved this beast of a video down to a svelte little 3 minute number. An extra little bit of fluff gives personality, but going from slicer to chopping to grating just seemed to be a waste of time and? essentially just trying to figure out how to deal with slightly too cooked potatoes. π But thanks!
Thanks! This is good to? know π
Ah, reversing the blanching and slicing – good? tip π
Great tips SBP π I have a? meat slicer too (its in the garage right now – need to go pull it out π
That is? a spectacular deal! Way to go! π
I must check it out :)? She has great videos π
HAHAHA lol :)?
I would keep an eye on? Craigslist too, you never know π
They are wonderful and made in the USA π
I can tell you I work full time? and prep π It can be done π
Yes, a food processor would make this much easier especially if you are doing large? batches. Mine is buried in the pantry and it would take me a day to retrieve the darn thing right now. π
I slice, dice or shred then blanch then dehydrate. The potatoes come out white and seems like this way makes a lot less? mess. Thank you for making videos to help folks prepping. I too use an Excaliblur and love it!!!
Never tried the vinegar, I will? have to give that go π
I slice with? skins on before boiling in water and 3 tbs vinegar. No need for mushy dehydrated potatoes that aren’t white. Just a thought.
I think my way is easier. I use a rival food slicer & slice the washed potatoes-blanch them-cool them then dry them in my Excalibur. They come out white & because of the meat slicer they are all the same size. I can also cut the potato into 1/4’s then slice & get the chunks for fried potatoes. Has browns get shredded-blanch-dried and are lovely hash browns. It makes it so much? easier and you can do with or without the peelings. We processed 40 lbs in an afternoon no sweat. Just wanted to share.
i just bought 20? lbs for 1.98 i think i’ll dehydrate some
Katzcadel has a video on how to dehydrate potates and? they come out white Have you seen it
