Hey, you’re doing a great job. Thanks for the info. Can’t beat that price.

  2. BlackCatSaloon

@MrB0TT Thanks for the comment! For sure, they seem to offer the best price
    for the staples.

  3. BlackCatSaloon

@IronRangeSurvival Thanks for the comment. I agree…if you have a cannery
    nearby, it’s worth a visit.

  4. skywriter1962

When storing flour, Freeze it for 24 hours first, it will kill all bug
    larvee.

  5. skywriter1962

@BlackCatSaloon Yes, my mom did that too, it was later in her life that she
found out that you should freeze it first to get rid of any larvee, and the
Bay leaf help’s keep from any new infestation, Thanks for that I had
    forgotten about the Bay Leaf!

Most dried foods in #10 cans will keep about a year once they are opened.
However, I have had some last longer than that. It depends on the type of
    food.

  8. momkatmax

We live in Indiana too and were thinking of going to one. Thanks so much
for the comments on their store house!

  9. BlackCatSaloon

@whatiftheyareright No problem, glad you found it useful.

  10. ihatesquirrel13

@MsAnna4040 what does it have to do with christians ? beleif in fantasies
has nothing to do with preperations

  11. BlackCatSaloon

    @jplerwill Excellent idea…thanks.

  12. FredFlintStoneRox

The church also runs what is called “Bishops Storehouse”. It is where one
can go to the storehouse, purchase the foodstuff and or the cans, and
supplies to can it yourself. The one near me also has a canner they loan so
you package the food at your house. Some have the canner and a pouch sealer
too. If you do not have a Bishops Storehouse near you, then order the food
    from the website.

  13. BlackCatSaloon

@TheReaganRevolution I’ve found the Mormons to be very kind and helpful as
well. Thanks for the comment and I”m glad you enjoyed the video.

  14. BlackCatSaloon

@dendog21 Oh yeah, for sure…much cheaper if you can yourself. This would be
for folks who prefer to buy prepackaged. If you live near an LDS cannery,
you can get more variety and it’s cheaper as well. Thanks for the comment.

  15. BlackCatSaloon

    @isabstmr You are very welcome!

  16. Ruth Pople

I am a born again Christian… more and more Christians are storing
food…who knows maybe we are doing this for those who are left behind
    after the rapture.

  17. BlackCatSaloon

@MsAnna4040 Thanks for the comment. For sure there ary many closet
pereppers out there. I wish I had an LDS cannery nearby.

  18. BlackCatSaloon

The opened cans of food should last a year easy.

  19. snaps81625

@patriotusa200 When I open a #10 can of beans I pressure can the whole can
.. but first I soak those beans overnight with a little baking soda!! It
softens the old beans.. I promise anything you open will be used and
    quickly enough!

  20. BlackCatSaloon

@patriotusa200 lol…after you open the can you’d want to consume within a
    reasonable amount of time.

Most LDS members are very kind & desire to live good lives – I do not
resent or dislike the members themselves. I do dislike the teachings of
that cult and the leaders who know they are teaching lies. Like many cults,
they can be very abusive and even though I recognized enough of the lies to
turn from them as a young teen, enough damage was done that it took me over
30 years to become a born again Christian. I’m just grateful that God never
    gave up on me!

  22. amusingisthedawn

I just ordered a starter kit. Thanks for the tip man.

  23. katzcradul

You did a much better than ‘halfway decent’ job. You did a great job
explaining all of this. I really liked the flickering lamp. Your video was
    well done.

  24. jplerwill

Southernprepper1 just made a similar video about the LDS canning. He shows
a 220 page preperation book that can be downloaded for free and is
    extremely full of great info.

  25. bleaupearls

    nice video Thanks.

  26. HealthyPrepper

Hi Beronica! Couponing can really help! πŸ™‚ I recommend starting slow, watch
lots of youtube videos on how to coupon. Pick one store first and learn to
do it there first really well πŸ™‚ Print out their coupon policy. Get their
weekly sales circular. Find an item on sale, see if you can find a MFR
coupon for it and perhaps a store coupon and stack them! Or just follow
what deals other youtubers do like Foodandfashioncents, 2littledollz or
SouthernCouponGirl for examples πŸ™‚ Have fun! πŸ™‚

  27. Beronica Frias

Hi..i want to know how to use coupons.. iam a single mother without a job
and childsupport is not enought my son is getting expensive and need ways
    to save..Can u help me??!?

  28. Ashley Smashley

That’s great! I used my nesquick coupons at kroger and they doubled and
    they were free πŸ™‚

  29. HealthyPrepper

Never did see the Kix cereal over here in our Dollar Trees but I am keeping
my prepper peepers eternally open πŸ™‚

  30. HealthyPrepper

It’s up to the cashier at that point. You could ask for the manager but the
ball is in their court if the coupon won’t scan. Your best defense is that
you have the exact item in the coupon and hope the coupon gods are on your
side that day πŸ™‚ And remember, don’t sweat it, it is only a coupon and
there always more right around the corner πŸ™‚ I would save the coupon and
try it at a different store like Target πŸ™‚

  31. Bill Mar

I live in Western NY and our coupon policy is 2 coupons per transaction, so
I would have many transactions. Many items that I get I donate to the
Ladies that serve our Country. Many items sent were for men, That is why I
knew that I could make someones day to smell nice, with body wash, lotions
shampoo, deodorant, ect. I wish that knowing what I am doing with my
purchase that they would not make me go through so much B/S. It’s still
    rewarding even after the hassle.

  32. Tonya Rush

Can you exlplain to me what a bvideo value coupns is. Ive heard people talk
about getting coupons that way but no idea what it is

  33. enerzizer bunny

r u kidding me its from dollar tree u dont need to exterame coupon

  34. Liz King

tyfs you did great wonder though about the liners but good idea to let them
decide super find on the loreal not seen any yet but will be looking for
it. Our dt stores keep running out of the olay and the kix cereal.

  35. HealthyPrepper

Yep, the cashiers do have all the power to refuse a coupon.

  36. HealthyPrepper

Great points Stephen πŸ™‚ Yes, we must all learn to look at regular objects
with new eyes in a prepping world πŸ™‚ If you haven’t seen it, please feel
free to check out my playlist on Unusual uses for Common Household items
for Preppers- hydrogen peroxide, tampons, soap, nail polish and others πŸ™‚

  37. HealthyPrepper

I wonder if it is a state by state thing Anne?

  38. Stephen Bradley

For some of the guys who turn away at the Pads, they can also be used in
First Aid for serious cuts etc.. No laughing matter when you can’t stop
    bleeding to death

  39. HealthyPrepper

I suggest letting them know this. They might be a little more gentle on you
in the check out line if they know you are doing good with it πŸ™‚

  40. CouponFrogs

You are most welcome. Thank you lol I couldn’t think of a name so Frogs was
as creative as I could get!=]]

  41. HealthyPrepper

I hear you! Patience is the key at the Dollar Tree πŸ™‚ It will pay off more
    often than not πŸ™‚

  42. Brownssugar2550

    So true love ur prep

  43. HealthyPrepper

Video value coupon is a new term to me. I looked it up and found a good
video on April 1 2013 from TheKrazyCouponLady. It states “The Rite Aid
Video Value offers are Rite Aid coupons that can be stacked with
manufacturer coupons”. Check out their site for more details πŸ™‚

  44. HealthyPrepper

That’s what I used to think too, until I realized the money I could save
could be used to buy the more expensive prepper items I need for my family.
If you save a little here and a little there, it can really add up over
    time πŸ™‚

  45. Jami Garrett

There never seems to be any name brand items at my dollar trees your so
    lucky πŸ™‚

  46. debifritzsd

I think I’m the only one who uses coupons at our Dollar Tree! Every time
the spend several minutes figuring out if the coupon applies. But I’m
patient because I love my deals. My store said the policy was only 2
coupons printed from the computer, but I can use as many newspaper type
    ones as I want.

  47. Patty Valdez

Thanks for that wonderful tip. Last month I was looking for the Gain dry
sheets and the manager would not take my coupon because the coupon said
fabric enhancer and not dry sheets.

  48. HealthyPrepper

I think The Dollar Tree is a great place to stock up on prepper items
quickly and inexpensively in case the SHTF. While it may not be the best
merchandise it is a great starting place πŸ™‚

  49. SeeAnnSave

Great haul! Your Dollar Tree has awesome stuff – mine never has these
    brands!
