Stock Up On Food: A New Dust Bowl Could Be Near – Drought hits 56 percent of continental US

Posted by & filed under .

More than half the nation is caught in an intensifying drought, with record-high temperatures and thousands still without power. The deadly heat has taken an especially big toll on corn crops, sending prices skyward. The prolonged heat across the Midwest has not only set temperature records, it is also expanding and intensifying drought conditions — and relief isn’t on the horizon for most areas, the National Weather Service reported Thursday. Drought conditions are present in 56 percent of the continental US, according to the weekly Drought Monitor. That’s the most in the 12 years that the data have been compiled, topping the previous record of 55 percent set on Aug. 26, 2003. It’s also up five percentage points from the previous week. The drought hasn’t been long enough to rank up there with the 1930s Dust Bowl or a bad stretch in the 1950s, David Miskus, a meteorologist at the weather service’s Climate Prediction Center, told msnbc.com. “We don’t have that here yet,” he said. “This has really only started this year.” But for a single year it’s still pretty significant, not far behind an extremely dry 1988. While 1988 saw much drier conditions and an earlier start to the drought than this year, said Brad Rippey, a meteorologist with the US Department of Agriculture, 2012 has its own interesting qualities. “This year the high temperatures have certainly played into this drought,” he told msnbc.com. “There’s a lot more evaporation … and crop demands for water.” The

War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death the Four Horsemen. Lord God for give me and others for our sins…. Revelation? Chapter 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Given that water moves through rock at a rate of 1 inch per day it would take hundreds maybe thousands of years of diminished use before that water was replenished. The water we are using now for agriculture and city is from the end of the last ice age. Another study done by the Illinois Geological Survey said that water for Central Illinois is on average? 7,000 years old depending upon where it is drawn.

If global warming continues what will happen is the prime corn growing region of the US will shift north well into Canada. Heavy use on aquifer water would be required which is in limited supply. A study released by Champaign County Illinois stated that their water use was unsustainable and that they had drawn down the water in a? funnel shape with a radius of 10 miles around the city and were now drawing water from neighboring counties. This is fairly typical.

ALL THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS…THE WORST IS YET TO COME !
God has unleashed plagues upon America / “Mystery Babylon” – she will no longer be a land of? plenty, the breadbasket to the world. Food shortages & hunger will become commonplace.
JESUS WARNED US – “COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE…so that you will NOT receive any of her PLAGUES, for her SINS are piled up to HEAVEN, & God has remembered her CRIMES.” (Revelation 18:4-5) Save yourself & your family – LEAVE AMERICA NOW !

Here in Utah our corrupt politicians have handed out water rights like candy? on halloween to companies that want to 1) increase fracking, 2) develop tar sands extraction, 3) build a pair of nuclear reactors. ALL are water intensive processes. Currently the Colorado River basin is in big trouble since we’ve been in a drought for so long already. This year so far we’ve had 1.04″ of rain. Nice government we have here, isn’t it?

I am not saying? it can’t happen again, but there has been bad droughts before after the dust bowl. And, if you know your history. You will know they didn’t have proper irrigation which caused the dust bowl in the first place.
